This project involved constructing a new passenger-operated cableway for the hydrometric station at Waiparous Creek (Station 05BG006) to ensure the continued collection of water level and flow data. The scope included erecting a 6-meter modular A-frame, installing a new cable system, and constructing a concrete anchor. The project required engineering custom forming for the concrete anchor and pouring it during challenging winter conditions. Ground thawing was performed prior to excavation to ensure the stability and safety of the work. All tasks, including excavation, backfilling, installation of cables and components, and site restoration, were completed successfully while adhering to strict federal and provincial guidelines.
