Project Description:

This project involved the complete rehabilitation of an existing cableway in a remote location near Smithers, BC. SVEMY Construction undertook the construction of a temporary forest road to access the site, followed by the full dismantling of structural steel and cable components. The scope included excavation of new footings on both sides of the river, precision installation of structural steel elements, and the challenging task of pulling new cables across the waterway. Strict environmental restrictions and logistical challenges due to the remote location were successfully managed, ensuring the project’s completion to the highest standards while preserving the surrounding ecosystem.
